Community councils are voluntary, statutory organizations run by local residents to act as a voice for their area, bridging the gap between local communities and local authorities. They represent local views on issues like planning and licensing, aiming to improve their community’s wellbeing and quality of life.
Key Aspects of Community Councils:
These bodies provide a platform for local people to have a tangible impact on decisions affecting their neighbourhood.
We are a legal statutory body. As such all our members have to come from the Seaton and Linksfield area which is “Officially” bounded by King street in the West, the sea in the East the Don estuary/nature reserve in the North and a line running down Linksfield Road to the sea in the South.
Please see the map below for clarification.
Our meetings are held on the last Monday of the month from 6:30pm in Seaton Community Centre.
Come and join us!
We are always looking for people from the local community and local groups to come and take part in our discussions and decision making activities. The sessions are far from dull and the crack is always light hearted but business like. If you think you can make a contribution of fee there is an issue that you would like raises or brought to our attention please come along or get in touch!
